The Death Reference

It is something that I think none of us wants to think about....that death reference...the possibility...no probability.... that our parent will die.  Cece and Yun have both been dealing with this issue and it hits literally close to home. Both are far from their parent and a sibling is there hands on.  Cece and Yun are mostly left to talk and support by phone with occasional visits to help out.

Coping from afar is not easy.  It makes us feel worried and anxious and is the push -pull of hands on and hands off...we absolutely trust the person who is caregiving, but we also wish we could be more hands on.

So we call and check in every day and also speak to our parent...we support the caregiver as best as we can.  We know they are stressed out and not sleeping well and multitasking continually and not prioritizing their self-care...but our options to change that are not many.

Cece has companioned many deaths this year,  due to her work.  She is continually asking her Creator why a STOP  cannot be put on death for a while...in all the world ..not just her world.  The mass murders, the wars and destruction of people's lives...all the innocents....but then the next death comes...the next Orlando comes..and she realizes that the halt of death has not been granted.

And so it goes...with the seemingly empty fight for gun control...that never passes...much like Cece's request for death to be put on hold...
